About us

INSPIRED BY DARCY produces beautiful and unique gifts for Labrador lovers. Our small business is based in Cheshire and was launched in 2014 by me,  Janet Smethurst, and named after our adorable Chocolate Labrador, Darcy.

Darcy was the inspiration behind everything we did. Whether walking through the stunning Cheshire countryside with my husband, Colin, enjoying a pub lunch together or just relaxing in front of a roaring log fire at home. Wherever we went and whatever we did, Darcy was always with us. On 1st January 2022, we were completely heartbroken when Darcy passed away, aged 14. We were so blessed to share our life with Darcy and miss him so very much.  His memory and legacy will always continue to inspire us.

After 10 years, Sadly the rising costs to produce our beautiful products has become unsustainable for our small business. Our suppliers have increased their costs so much, which would mean that we would have to add these additional costs onto our products, which we believe is unfair to our customers. So, for now, we have closed our online shop, but we hope to be back in the future.
